In partnership with Midas Group, KCS have secured the contract to deliver the carpentry package at Swansea’s exciting Urban Village regeneration development. The new build development will comprise 75 nr apartments and is set to commence in December.
KCS staff attended the prestigious Fast Growth Business Awards 2011, following their short listing as a finalist for the ‘Family Business of the Year’ category. The black tie ceremony, which took place at the London Marriott, Grosvenor Square, was attended by over 200 business experts and entrepreneurs and honoured some of the UK’s most successful businesses.

Working with Carillion, KCS have been awarded the carpentry package contract for new build Ty Garngoch hospital in Swansea. Replacing the existing ‘Garngoch’ hospital, the new facility will include day services accommodation, activity space, consulting rooms, interview rooms, a reception, support space and offices. Completion is expected spring 2012.
KCS have commenced on site at Llanelli Library, one of Llanelli’s oldest buildings. Working with Kier Group, the project entails an extensive refurbishment to the existing library and is to due complete February 2012.
KCS have successfully secured the contract for the new build Blaenavon Primary school. Working with Kier Group, the new school due to complete Spring 2012, will accommodate 450 children and replaces existing schools within the area.
Delighted to be working with new client Laing O'Rourke, KCS have commenced on site at the Cardiff Royal Infirmary development. The project entails the redevelopment of the Grade 2 listed hospital of which KCS are providing the carpentry package and associated conservation works.
Working with Wates Living Space, KCS were successful in securing the contract to deliver the complete carpentry package at the Lion Street development in Brecon. A West & Wales Housing Association project, the development will provide 26 affordable family homes in Brecon's town centre.
Having successfully completed phases 1 and 2 of the refurbishment works at the University of Glamorgan at Treforrest, KCS has secured a further contract to deliver third phase carpentry works to the Glamorgan Court Halls of residence.
Working with Henstaff Construction, phase 3 includes refurbishment of bedrooms, conversion of shower pods into wet rooms and new and remodelled kitchens.
KCS are delighted to be working with Dawnus Construciton on the exiting Sherman Cymru redevelopment. The extensive refurbishment will comprise a complete renovation of the front house area along with new toilet, bar and café facilities. Improvements will also be made to accessibility in all areas of the building along with new seating, heating and ventilation systems. The backstage areas will also be enhanced for staff and participants, including a new rehearsal room.

KCS have secured the contract to deliver the complete carpentry package for a new state-of-the-art stadium on the site of Rodney Parade.Working with Andrew Scott Limited, the greatly-anticipated development will encompass a 15,000 capacity stadium, new training facilities,clubhouse, corporate boxes and a 300-capacity function room and will be home to Newport RFC and the Newport Gwent Dragons.
Working with Interserve, KCS have been awarded the specialist carpentry contract for the Critical Care Unit development at West Wales General Hospital. The development will provide new critical care and emergency assessment facilities for Carmarthenshire NHS Trust.
KCS have commenced on site at Bristol University’s School of Veterinary Sciences, supplying the specialist carpentry package for a new state-of-the-art surgical facility for the treatment of sick horses and farm animals. KCS are supplying the complete carpentry package comprising all external and internal works.

Working with Carillon PLC, KCS have successfully secured the contract to undertake refurbishment works at HMP Usk Prison. The development which will provide the replacement of a new gatehouse will comprise replacement doors, kitchens, IPS panels and flooring.
KCS have begun work delivering the carpentry package at Bluestone National Park. Working with Dawnus Construction, the 5 star luxury resort development will comprise 60 new build holiday lodges ranging from 2-4 bed semi-detached lodges to premier 4 bed luxury detached lodges.
KCS has secured the contract to deliver the carpentry package for a new state-of-the-art care home in Cardiff for Hafod Care Association. Working with Leadbitter Construction, the Woodcroft Care Home redevelopment will provide 15 close care units and 60 care home beds.
Working with Mi-space, KCS have commenced on site at High Street, Barry. A residential development for Newydd Housing Association, the development consist new build town houses and apartments.

KCS have secured the contract for the relocation works at Morrison Hospital. Working with Midas Construction, relocation of the Estates Department comprise first and second fix works, new doors and frames and a new mezzanine floor.
Working with new client John Sisk & Son Ltd, KCS have secured the contract to deliver the carpentry package for the new Bridgewater House office development, part of the new Finzels Reach scheme in the heart of Bristol City Centre.
The new offices will be the largest speculative office development outside London. Located on the redeveloped old Courage brewery site, Bridgewater House will offer 110,524 sq ft of Grade A office space and is set to be BREEAM ‘Excellent.’
Working with Greenhill, KCS have secured the contract to deliver the carpentry package for the Woodfield Road development in Tredegar, South Wales. The new development comprises new build housing and a new build hostel.
Following an assessment by NHBC, KCS are now accredited with NHBC Health and Safety Competence Assessment Scheme (Safemark) for Contractors.
The NHBC Safemark Scheme is designed to assess an organisation’s compliance with the Core Criteria Stage 1 Assessment as outlined in Appendix 4 of the ACoP for the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 (CDM 2007).
Already accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, BM Trada Q Mark Fire Installers Scheme, British Woodworking Federation and Construction Skills Certificate Scheme, this accreditation is a further demonstration KCS’s commitment to providing and maintaining Health and Safety best practices.

KCS have completed the carpentry package on a major refurbishment programme at St Michael’s College. Working with Andrew Scott Limited, the upgrade included installation of en-suite bathrooms throughout the accommodation block, the provision of accessible front door and lift access to the first floor, improvements to ground floor rooms and a new reception area.
A huge deserved congratulations to the Captains who successfully scaled the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro on Monday 13th September. The team of more than 50 climbers, including 15 former Wales captains and current coach Warren Gatland reached the top, after a 6 hour walk from midnight in minus 20 degrees.

Working with Wates Construction, a new client for KCS, work has commenced at the Kingswood Civic Centre and Children’s Locality Hub in Bristol, where KCS are delivering the complete supply and fix carpentry package. The project involves the refurbishment of the existing civic centre and the new build locality hub. Work is expected to be completed in time to open in autumn 2011.
Working with Leadbitter Construction, KSC are thrilled to be working at the exciting regeneration project of Loudoun Square. The scheme is one of the most environmentally friendly and high quality schemes in Cardiff designed to stand the test of time. The scheme includes townhouses and flats, health centre, retail units, community hub and enterprise units, flexible community space and landscaped public space. This development which started in June 2010 concentrates on building the temporary accommodation for retailers.

Having successfully completed the Phase 1 refurbishment at Cowbridge Comprehensive School with Carillion PLC, KSC are delighted to be working on the second phase of the school’s uplift. Phase 2 involves the upgrade of a further three school buildings, involving new doors, door linings, ironmongery and associated items.

Working with Vinci Construction, KCS have secured the contract to deliver the carpentry package for the new residential development in Newport, Lysaght Village. The first phase of homes at Lysaght Village is anticipated to launch in summer 2010, with building taking place over the next ten years.
Extending the construction arm of the organisation, KCS have been successful in being awarded the construction of the first two bat houses with works to commence late June 2010. Working with Kier Western, the contract comprises ground works, substructure, and roofing, using reclaimed Welsh materials with Kier Western.
As part of the redevelopment of St Athan and prior to the demolition of the existing buildings a number of permanent dwellings are required to house the current population of Bats.
The houses consist of a blockwork built single storey structure with oak external cladding and a slate roof which, upon completion, will provide both summer and winter roosts for the bats along with mating roosts. Reclaimed Welsh materials to be used for the roof and cladding. Completion is expected in approximately 16 weeks.
Working with Henstaff Construction, KCS have secured the refurbishment contract at the University of Glamorgan. Refurbishment of 600 student flats, work includes showers, WCs to six blocks of accommodation and renewal of 34 kitchens.

KCS have been involved with the construction of a £4.8m primary school in Aberfan for Merthyr Tydfil Borough Council, which is the first new school to be built in the area for more than 60 years following the the Aberfan Disaster in October 1966. Ynysowen Community Primary School will be officially opened later this month.
Working with Andrew Scott, the planned construction of two new nickel-plating production facilities and an effluent plant will double the mint's nickel-plating production capacity, will be Royal Mint’s biggest new investment for 40 years.
Working with Galliford Try, the new project will incorporate a new accommodation block to consist of 300 new cells.
